Exercise is very important, not only physically, but psychologically as well. As humans, we inherited bodies that are physiologically the same as our ten-thousand year old ancestors; whereas they needed to move to survive, we do not. Instead, we sit at computer chairs, in couches, and spend most of our days sedentary basking in luxury. Thus, with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, strokes, and other ailments on the rise, experts suggest we follow what our forefathers did, and, thus, move; one way to do this tactic is by going to a local gym!

Below are ten reasons to join a gym:

1) Most gyms are open all day, so we can choose when we want to spend our times there. Although experts suggest at least thirty minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise daily, it is typically preferred that we get forty-five to sixty minutes instead.

2) Gyms can cost a lot of money, which is an incentive to get our value’s worth anyway.

3) Gyms are cleaner than most people think. Even if you are obsessive about being clean, gyms offer showers and cleaning rooms; plus, the atmosphere is not as bad as imagined.

4) They offer many different machines which can help to lose weight, build muscle, stretch, or just lose a double chin that has been plaguing you.

5) Almost all gyms have a television or music going on at all times; thus, it is easier to keep our minds enthralled while working out.

6) The equipment at gyms is professionally made, and it is merchandise which the common person cannot afford to buy for his or her house.

7) Gyms have saunas and spas, which serve as channels for our skin cells to release sweaty toxins, thus cleaning our bodies.

8) Exercise helps our bodies by increasing our ability to breathe better, by lowering blood pressure, and helping our hearts!

9) Exercise helps our minds by decreasing symptoms of anxiety and depression; this strategy works because neurotransmitters, such as endorphins, epinephrine, serotonin, and norepinephrine are released, all of which increases our mood and self-esteem.

10) There are many fitness trainers available who know what exercises will work best for each of our bodies; they may also know what dies we should utilize for even better results.
