Chances that if you’re reading this, then you seen the TV Reality Show about weight loss called The Biggest Loser. This show is in it’s eighth season and has been a smash hit since it first started. During the second season I decided to see how much weight I could lose and decided to give their way a try.

I learned a lot of things along the way. I started working out in the Garage watching the very first Biggest Loser DVD. I still have and use this DVD to help me ramp up my weight loss when my workout needs a jump start.

Besides the DVD, one thing I learned from watching The Biggest Loser is a few things that really changed the way I ate and how I lived. Losing weight long term really is about changing your lifestyle.

One of the tips I picked up from watching the show is to drink lots and lots of water. I’d always heard about drinking lots of water to make yourself feel full. But that trick didn’t work out all that great for me. But what drinking lots of water did do for me was boost my metabolism and help flush impurities from my system!

The second thing that helped me increase my long term weight loss was changing the way I ate meals. I no longer eat 2 or 3 big meals per day. Now I eat several smaller “mini” meals throughout the day. This boost my metabolism again and keeps me from getting super hungry. Everyone knows if you get super hungry, then you’ll just pig out at the next meal.

The third thing I learned by watching The Biggest Loser is that I didn’t have to kill myself to lose weight. I do about 45 minutes of cardio 4 to 5 days per week. Just this little bit of exercise is enough to help me lose 1 to 2 pounds per week on average!
